Rushed towards opening

Site manager Ståle Gundersen is in a hurry to open the facility hotel.
Site manager Ståle Gundersen has a lot of details to look after during the day. At Odden on Brakerøya, there is progress towards the opening of the construction hotel. Then it's about big and small, about machines, equipment, people, details, unpacking and assembly.

The facility should be ready for opening during April. Everything in the square is new. All buildings and everything inside the buildings.

The outside of the facility itself is ready. Assembly started in January. Now 132 rooms are ready. Washing machines, coffee machines, stoneware and glasses. Much is in place. Other things are in transit. At the same time, professionals are working on the final assembly tasks.
- We are both close to an opening and far away. There is a lot that still needs to be done, says Ståle Gundersen.

Long days
Ståle has long days at the plant. There are many details, many large and small, that must be in place, adapted, mounted on walls or placed correctly elsewhere in the facility.

In the kitchen, Monica Steinsland is the boss. A lot these days is about unpacking, placing and getting everything in place.

Eidos is behind
Eidos Eiendomsutvikling is behind Fjordbyen Innkvartering with 66 percent. The rest is owned by ILD Invest AS. The company was established last year. Now it's only weeks from opening. Then 132 rooms are ready for building and construction workers.

- We will have everything in order during April. We follow the schedule, says Ståle.

Beach plot
The resort hotel will be established on a great beach plot on Odden in Fjordbyen. The nearest neighbor will be the new hospital for Drammen. Construction work has started there. The opening is planned for May 2025.

In addition, Drammen Health Park is to be built on Brakerøya. Groundwork will start there this year. The first construction phase of the health park will be opened at the same time as the hospital.

- We feel the demand, says Gundersen.
